Thanks for the gift suggestions, guys! Mom definitely appreciates it.

We got a card from Skeezix yesterday! It's a Halloween card. It should have had Mao on it, too, but he didn't show up for their photo shoot. It was awesome anyway.

Happy Halloween, everyone! It's almost here! Get lots of candy, but stay away from the chocolate.

Ideas?

Mom and her friends are doing a Secret Santa exchange for Christmas, and they drew names last night.

But Mom is wondering: What do you get for a woman who has everything?

Any ideas would be GREAT. Fanks, efurryone!

!

T: Eek! We have a problem!

Mom was gonna enter Pippin in Petco's costume contest on Saturday.

The problem is, her grandma (our great grandma!) is having her birthday party at 1pm, and registration is at 1:30. How in the world will we make it work?

P: Hahahaha! That's what you get for stuffing me in that costume, Mom! Hahahahah-

Pippin! If you won you'd get prizes, like 'nip and new stuffed animals!

Oh. Really?

Yes.

Can I drive myself there, Mom?

Thursday, October 18, 2007

P: Mom has been sewing my Halloween costume! It's kinda hard because I really don't want to let her measure me and stuff. But she seems to be determined...

There are some costume contests around here that she wants to enter me in, plus she'd like to get me entered in Skeezix's contest!

So hopefully it will turn out well.

Guess what I'm gonna be?

A pirate!

Edit: It's finished! Whatcha think, guys?

To see all the neat costumes other kitties and friends have, check out Skeezix's costume contest!

T: Mom got the book that has Pippin's picture and story in it today!

Would you believe that Pippin wasn't even that interested? He was too busy lookin' for foods.

I lick, lick, licked the page he was on-my brofur is in a published book! I think it's cool, even if he doesn't!

The book is called "Hopeful Tails" and it's available at any Borders or Waldenbooks store. Mom nearly cried at many of the stories in it-and the best part is that if you purchase it before June or July of next year, a dollar from the purchase goes to the ASPCA! It's a win-win situation. (Plus, you can see Pippin, and that's pretty darn cool!)

P: So Mom has finally let that Pickle out of her room for good. She'd been letting him out to play with us every day, and now that we sorta get along, he's free!

Mom's friend (Pickle's co-mom) may have found an apartment, so Pickle might be leaving pretty soon. Mom's kinda sad.

We think he's cute and all, but I can't say we'll be broken-hearted. I mean, we haven't gotten a good nap in since he's been out! Always climbing on us, nipping our ears...sheesh! What's a guy to do!?

Eek! Here he comes!

(PS-Thanks to everyone who wished our Mom well-she's feeling much better now!)

Thursday, October 11, 2007

P: We's furry sorry we haven't updated lately. Mom has been sick (again) because she works around lots of kidbeans. They pass everything along to her.

Go here to vote for me and my brofur in the "World's Coolest Cat Show" by Catster!

Please vote for Pippin at The 3rd Annual World’s Coolest Dog & Cat Show

If you'd like for us to vote for any of you we'd be glad to! Just let us know!

We's gonna go back to bed with Mom now.

Purrs!

Sad news...

Our furriend Millie's fursister (even though they didn't get along so well) has crossed the Rainbow Bridge today.

Our purrayers are with Millie and her mom.

(We hope you don't mind us using her picture, Millie's mom.)

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Hi! I's Pickle!

I's gettin' furry big. Mom says I eet like a horse and now I can jump on the bed and bother her allllll night.

If you lookit my before pictures and my now pictures, you can see a BIG difference!

Mom says my co-Mom (her friend she found me with) is moving in a couple of weeks and then I getta go live with her. Mom's furry sad but she told her friend if she ever needed to give me back she'll always take me.

(I has laser eyes!)

In ofur news, Mom got bitten by a camel. I swear! She was at a petting zoo and the camel got impatient and didn't want Mom to feed the other camel. So it ate Mom!

Mom thinks it's kinda funny (even though it hurts) 'cause how many people can say that?

Furry important!

KC & Missy's Mom has ended up with more kitties than she knows what to do with!

Dinah and the Mites are very adorable kittens (Mom is about 10 months, the kittens are about 2 months) and they all need good, loving homes!

Most of us kitties know what it's like to need a home-can anyone help?

P: Mom got our Christmas cards in today!

The inside says "And happy MEOW-lidays!"
then underneath it says "What can we say? We're all about the cat puns!"
(Last year the cards said "Meowy Christmas!")

So what'cha think? Pretty cute, right? I mean, there are no better faces than those.

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Oops!

P: Today, Turtle thought he'd try door darting again.

What he didn't realize (and I don't know how-anytime the wet comes anywhere NEAR me I'm under the bed) is that it was raining.

So Turtle is now wet in addition to his recent nakedness.

Am I a bad brofur for thinking it's funny?

Ducks n' fish

We's furry sorry we haven't written all weekend.

Mom didn't feel very good most of the time.

But LOOK what she did WITHOUT US on Sunday!

She fed the ducks and fish! Without us!

Can you imagine having one of these fishes for your furry own?

(you can click to biggify so you can gets the full effect!)

Mom said they's bigger than we is!

And this guy really liked the breads. It's hanging out of his mouth.

We's so jealous. We's gonna stowaway next time Mom goes.

Thursday, September 20, 2007

We're so upset.

Please, please go read this article.

It's horrible, but Mom thinks it's furry important to be informed.

If you ever have to rehome your pets, don't ever give them away for free. And always do an interview with potential adopters. Get vet AND personal references. Be really thorough and if you have the slightest bad feeling, DON'T do it.

The instances of animal cruelty are increasing and people need to know that it won't be tolerated. Write a letter. Pass the word around. It matters. It makes a difference.

Yay for memes!

P: We's been tagged by my nose twin, Jimmy Joe, for this cool meme! We's both gonna do it, so here we go.

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules
2. Write some facts about yourself: some random, some weird, some just plain fun.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them)
4. Let those 7 people know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

The challenge is to keep it interesting without making the reader think “Um, too much information…”

P: Here's mine.
1) Mom got me when I was abandoned by a man who ran me over. He brought me to the vet clinic she worked at, said he was going to get money, and never came back for me. I was four months old.

2) I's very sensitive about my furchin. You know, saddlebag, hanging fat pouch...you've all seen it. Well, I don't like for mine to be touched.

3) Speaking of my furchin, I've got the pinkest man-nipples around! They're almost red. Is that too much information? I don't know.

4) I have three different meows: one when I'm chasing bugs, one when I wants attentions, and one when I want foods.

5) My fur is sort of soft but sort of course at the same time. Mom's never felt anything like it before.

6) I have a little white spot right smack on the top of my back. Mom says it's how she'll 'dentify me if I ever go missing. I hope not!

7) One of the things I do most is when Mom is at the computer, I'll walk back and forth over her from the table behind her to the desk to the table to the desk...a million times. It makes her CRAZY!

T: And now mine!
1) I's naked now 'cause Mom's been trying for several months to get rid of my 'ringworm'...I don't really know what that is but it stoled my furs.

2) I will talk to anybody. Mom, guests, my reflection...it doesn't matter.

3) I can't stand cats outside my house. I've bitten Mom once, her best friend once, and Grandma three times when I notice another cat outside.

4) I will stop and pose for pictures. You get the flashy box out, I'll sit there for however long you want to take pictures of me.

5) I have lots and lots of freckles! On my nose and my lips.

6) Sometimes when I'm in the litterbox, I'll start peein' before I'm done diggin' so as I'm turning around, I pee on the wall behind the box. Oops.

7) I don't like to sleep on the floor. I just won't do it. I have to be up on something, whether it's a chair or table or the piano. You just won't catch me asleep on the floor.

We don't know who hasn't done this yet 'cause most kits we've seen already have! So here's the deal: if you haven't, we tag you!

Sunday, September 16, 2007

T: Everything seems to be pretty much back to normal in the Tabby household.

Except that Pickle is still here.

And I'm still naked.

But I finally purred for Mom for the first time since they stoled my furs.

I guess I understand she did it for my own good and all that stuff-at least there WAS a reason.

But explain that kitten!

--------

Mom asked me to post this here-some friends of hers are in a band and they're fantastic. Check them out and share with friends!

Friday, September 14, 2007

Shhh...

P: Nokitty can efur tell Turds that I put these pictures up here...I had to steal them from Mom 'cause he doesn't want anyone seein' him.

I tried to tell him that his friends would like him furry or naked, but he won't listen.

So here he is.

And dis is me checking to make sure it really IS Turtle, 'cause he smells REALLY funny.

Shaving & eating

P: Mom is taking Turds early in the morning to get shaved.

She hasn't mentioned it to him because then she'll nefur find him.

This is the last time you'll see him fully furred for a long time.

----------------------------------------

Pickle finished a whole half a can of stinky goodness.

Mom went to Petco to get some kitten food (she was feeding him a/d when he was being force-fed) and found their Pet Gold stinky goodness on sale for $.15 a can. They're gettin' rid of it or somefing. And it seems to be an okay food, with actual meat the primary ingredient and few to no grains.

So Mom got cans for Pickle and then adult food for Moo, who lives outside.

That's NOT my tail. I would NOT be begging for food or anyfing. Nope.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

Today on The Pickle Report

T: Pickle is eating on his own now-stinky goodness, anyway. The kibble he's kinda "eh" about. He will eat it if someone actually handfeeds it to him, though.

Mom gave him a bath and he's much shinier and clean.

He's also up and walking around some, which is definitely progress because originally all he would do is sit in his bed. He uses the litterbox well and has been playing a little.

But he still walks very strangely. Mom doesn't think he's in pain 'cause she's felt around and looked and he doesn't react at all-it just seems to be how he walks.

Anyway, he's now demanding anyone in the area pay attention to him. Which means I get less attention-hey! I'm gettin' robbed!

No fairs.

This is Pickle. As in, "in a pickle."

Mom talked her mom (our grandma) into spotting her the money until she gets paid Thursday, so she took him to the vet.

He tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, and the vet said he was healthy aside from severe malnutrition and dehydration. So poor Pickle got sub-q fluids and force fed, treated for fleas, and sent home. The vet also said that whatever had happened to his legs was an old injury and shouldn't be anything to worry about.

So he's getting some Pet-Tinic twice a day, force fed if he won't eat, and if he's still not eating in a couple of days will get more sub-q fluids.

Hey, Pickle, we'll eat the stinky goodness for you.

Sunday, September 9, 2007

Mom and her friend found a kitten today.

He's probably about 8 or 9 weeks old and seems to have been injured previously, because his legs stick out in an odd way. It's so hard to tell if he's hurting because he's just so scared.

He hisses a lot.

But he's very, very skinny-every bone he has sticks out and Mom really wants to take him to the vet, but since she's got to take Turtle to the vet Thursday she does not have any extra money. She is a college student after all, and they're naturally broke, haha.

She has no idea what to do. This poor kitten needs some medical attention. He's definitely dehydrated and probably hasn't eaten in a LONG time, not to mention his legs being injured. Right now he's napping in a carrier with food and water.

Mom will hopefully post pictures in the next couple of days.

Mmm...

I ate a cookie today.

It was a really good cookie from Great 'Merican Cookie. That's what the bag said, anyway.
Mom had the bag sitting on the desk and left for a little bit.

When she came home, the bag was knocked over and there was a cookie laying there with nibbles taken out of it. Lots of nibbles.

I tried to convince her it was a mouse, but no dice.

I'm in trouble. 'Parently cookies are bad for kitties.

Tasted good to me.

Shopping!

P: Our mom really likes to shop.

T: And she especially likes to shop for US-who better?!

P: So her question is-where do you like to shop for kitty stuff? Any good websites or stores she should look into?

T: We'd sure appreciate any suggestions! Fanks, guys!

Tummy Tuesday

This was when my tummy was shaved because of all the ouches I had. Now that my furs are growing back, the ouchies are back and on my back too. So now...I has to lose it ALL!
I think I's going to be in hiding for months.
xo-Turtle

the v-e-t

P: I just got back from you-know-where.

It was HORRIBLE. They stuck a blue thing in my butt and poked me and prodded me and...I'm just scarred for life.

I took Dazey's advice and got hissy and mean-I didn't draw blood or anything like Rocky the Gutter Cat would've, but I was still Not Very Nice.

Grr, Midnight, & Cocoa-Mom and I did not see any boxes of kittens, which is good, because I KNOW she would've brought them home with her. She's crazy like your mom must be.

But here's something that makes it allll worth it:
Mom made an appointment next week for Turtle. He's going to get COMPLETELY SHAVED. He'll be BALD! hahahahahahaha....

(Pippin, you're not being very nice again.)

Mom, I'm angry with you.

(He has to get shaved because he's got all those ouchies all over him that won't go away.)

That doesn't mean it's not funny.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

We did what you's supposed to do on Labor Day-slept.

P: But sadly, I has to go to the vet tomorrow. I does NOT want to go to the vet. It makes me very mean and cranky.

T: Who DOESN'T it make mean and cranky?

P: Mom says it's just for my check-up, but that doesn't make it any better. I's been thinking about putting this hairball I's been saving in her bed tonight. What do you guys finks?

My middle name!

P: Since Turds got to do Scattergories, I gets to do this one, the Middle Name meme! (Besides, his name is Turtle Buttercup Satan-can you 'magine how long it'd take him to get it done?)

1. Post the rules before you give the facts.
2. List one fact that is somehow relevant to you and your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
3. When you are tagged you need to write your post using your middle name and facts about it.
4. At the end of your post, choose one cat to tag for each letter of your middle name. Be sure to let each cat know she/he has been tagged. (It's okay if you don't do this... tag who you want to tag!)

My middle name is Anberlin.

A- Adorable (course I am!)
N- Nosy (if you're doing something, I'm there)
B- Buff (as in the color-I'm not so much orange as I am buff, Mom says)
E- Excitable (it doesn't take much for me to be bouncing off the walls!)
R- Ripe (Mom says I smell like this sometimes-what does that mean?)
L- Loud ('specially when I'm hungry)
I- Inviting (You just can't not pet me)
N- Nibbling (I get so happy sometimes I can't help nibbling on you)

We doesn't know who to tag and we fink everyone's done this already, but if not we tag YOU!

In memory...

of all the kitters who have gone to the Bridge.
We love you and you're all missed.

A Light in Silence & Remembrance

(to light your own candle go to Kashim & Othello's blog.)

Today (Saturday's) new posts will be under this one.

Blogger hates us!

We just want to say thank you to all of our new (and old!) friends who've left us comments. We's so happy to meet you all we's just practically speechless.
But Blogger is NOT letting us comment on anykitty's blog right now and we're not sure why!
So as soon as Mom figures it out we'll get back to you.
But just know we 'preciate it.

P: And by the way, I think my new pal Jimmy Joe could be my Nose Twin! At least, he's the closest I's ever seen.

Today's dumb event:

P: So guess what happened today?

Mom slept in because it's her day off and she likes to sleep late, anyway. (And that's cool with me.)

She got up and was getting dressed when she noticed a cat standing at the back door.

She looked a little more closely, and said to our Grandma (her Mom) "Is that TURTLE outside?!"

Grandma looked outside and said "Why would he be outside?"

Mom opened the door and Turtle ran in. He was very hot because as you can tell, he has lots of fluffy fur and who knows how long he was out there?

Turns out Grandpa was carrying in the groceries and Turtle shot out between his legs.

Bet he regrets that, hahaha.

(That is not nice, Pippin!)

Sorry, Mom. But it is funny. I mean, his pathetic little face at the door while I was nice and cool on the sofa...

(Don't tell Mom, but I gave Turds some extra lovin' when nobody was looking. The Outside can be kinda stressful.)

Scattergories!

T: I loves to do things like this, so I made Mom help me with it before she went to bed!

RULES: Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the following...they have to be real places, names, things...nothing made-up! Try to use different answers if the person in front of you had the same 1st initial. You CAN'T use your name for the boy/girl name question.

What is your name: Turtle
4 letter word: time
vehicle: Trailblazer
TV show: Three's Company
City: Tampa
Boy name: Tyler
Girl name: Tara
Alcoholic drink: T-Bird
Occupation: tailor
Something you wear: turtleneck (but not mine! only I wear mine!)

Celebrity: Tim Burton
Food: toast!
Something found in a bathroom: toilet
Reason for being late: traffic
Cartoon character: Tigger
Something you shout: Time's up! (when Mom's been on the computer too long!) or maybe "Time to feed me!" That's pretty much all the time.

Our first post!

P: Hi, everyone! I'm Pippin.
T: I'm Turtle.

P: And we're...
B: The orange tabbies!

P: Okay, not the only ones. But we're a couple of 'em.
We're not sure how often we'll be able to blog-Mom's kinda lazy and unreliable-
*Mom raises eyebrow*
I mean, she's the greatest!

Anyway, here are a few facts about us.

Pippin:
-I weigh about 15 pounds.
-I barf a whole lot-sometimes I do it spitefully (but don't tell Mom!)
-My favorite toys are small stuffed animals that I can carry around and sing to.
-I can sleep anywhere, anytime-unless it's really hot. Then I have to find somewhere else.
-I was hit by a car before Mom adopted me. Now you can't even tell!

Turtle:
-I weight about 19 pounds. But I'm not fat! ...not all fat, anyway.
-I clean myself thoroughly at least seventeen times a day. No joke.
-I'm a real friendly guy until it comes to giving me pills, clipping my nails, or petting my stomach. Or if you're a cat that's not me or my brother at the patio door.
-I like to lay on people's feets while they're sleeping. Keeps them warm, keeps me warm-it's win-win!
